If you are looking for a way to communicate with your teammates better while you play, then this program could be the one for you. It’s called Mumble, but don’t let the name fool you – the sound quality is perfectly good and won’t make anyone sound like they’re mumbling (unless they actually are, in which case, no program is going to help).

Mumble’s essential purpose is to give players a voice communication tool to use while they play online games. But it also has another feature that any gamer will recognize as being critical: it is an extremely lightweight program, meaning it can run in the background without interfering with the performance of your game at all. It can also be added to your server.

Another interesting feature of Mumble, although it doesn’t work with every game just yet, is support for “positional audio”. This allows you to hear the voice of each player from the direction of wherever they are in the game universe. The positional audio option depends on the plugins that are available for each game.
